Grazie alla collaborazione con China Unicom, sono stati distribuiti ai bambini dei cellulari da polso dotati di GPS in modo tale da rilevare in maniera costante la posizione dei bambini. Global Times ha rivelato che la distribuzione dei gadget è stata lanciata dalla Croce Rossa. Tramite un tasto di scelta rapida i bambini potranno entrare in contatto con i genitori in qualsiasi momento. I genitori potranno invece consulatare la posizione dei figli attraverso alcuni software. In circostanze particolai inoltre i genitori possono attivare tramite comandi SMS il telefono e tracciare la posizione dei bambini online.

Parents will be able to keep track of kids in their care after primary school students started picking up free mobile phones with built-in global positioning systems. The watches, work as mobile phones and the first batch of 20,000 such gadgets were distributed among the school children by the Beijing Red Cross Foundation, the Global Times reported.
