 Li Hong

Graduating from Beijing Film Academy in 1998, Li Hong directed her debut feature Fly Together With You at just twenty-four years of age. The film was awarded Best Debut Movie in the 6th Annual Beijing Student Film Festival, Best Director at the 6th Annual Indian Interna­tional Children’ s Film Festival, and Best Children’ s Movie Silver Kite Award at the Argentine International Children’ s Film Festival. In 2001, her feature-film Black and White was awarded the Judges Choice Award at France’ s 16th Hans International Television Film Festival. Her latest feature, the horror film Curse, received praise at the 2005 Tokyo International Film Festival, with critics claiming it heralded a new phase in the evolution of the genre.
